◇◆伝統工芸と美食が響き合う一日／A feast of Kyoto craft and cuisine◆◇

京の美意識が息づく『ホテルオークラ京都岡崎別邸』では、京都の伝統工芸を担う後継者6人によるプロジェクトユニット「GO ON（ゴオン）」をはじめ、気鋭の作家による工芸品を館内随所に設えています。
ご滞在を通じて、作品に宿る現代的な京の美しさや、職人の繊細な手仕事に触れていただけます。

このたび、「GO ON」のメンバーの一人であり、世界的に活躍する朝日焼十六世窯元・松林豊斎氏をお迎えし、15名限定・一日限りのレクチャー＆ランチイベントを開催いたします。

本イベントでは、京都・宇治の地で400年以上の歴史を紡ぐ「朝日焼」の魅力や、代々受け継がれてきた“きれいさび”の美意識について、豊斎氏ご本人に語っていただきます。

会場となるレストラン「ヌーヴェル・エポック」には、豊斎氏が手掛けた淡いブルーの釉薬「月白釉（げっぱくゆう）」によって“きれいさび”を表現した作品が展示されています。
個室の飾り棚に配された茶盌や、竹細工のシェルフで存在感を放つ器など、いずれも当ホテルのために制作された作品です。朝日焼が400年にわたり育んできた美意識を、間近でご体感いただけます。

レクチャーの後には、朝日焼の器を用いた特別ランチコースをご用意。宇治の茶文化に深く根ざした器の造形美と、フランス料理との美しい融合をご堪能いただきます。

Kyoto’s refined aesthetic is beautifully reflected throughout Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei, where carefully curated craft pieces by leading contemporary artisans and members of Kyoto’s GO ON project are displayed throughout the hotel. Through these works and the artisans’ meticulous craftsmanship, guests are invited to experience the timeless beauty of Kyoto from a modern perspective.

On Saturday, July 18, the hotel will host a special one-day-only luncheon event featuring Hosai Matsubayashi — a member of the GO ON project and the 16th-generation master potter of the renowned Asahiyaki kiln in Uji, Kyoto.

During the event, Hosai will share the 400-year history and enduring appeal of Asahiyaki pottery, along with the elegant kirei-sabi aesthetic that has been passed down through generations. Guests will also have the opportunity to view exclusive works created for the hotel, including tea bowls and other pieces finished in Hosai’s signature pale-blue geppaku-yu glaze.

Following the presentation, a special luncheon will be served at Nouvelle Epoque using Asahiyaki tableware, offering a rare opportunity to experience the harmony between Kyoto craftsmanship, tea culture, and fine French cuisine.

『ホテルオークラ東京ベイ』のカフェレストランテラスでは、6月15日から19日までの5日間限定で、「グラン・スイーツブッフェ～初夏の彩り～」を開催します。

初夏から盛夏にかけて味わいが深まるフルーツを使用し、彩り豊かに仕上げたスイーツが並ぶ期間限定のスイーツブッフェ。
マンゴーやパイナップルなどのトロピカルフルーツをはじめ、みずみずしいメロンや桃、爽やかな柑橘など、この季節ならではの味わいをご堪能いただけます。

ローズがふんわり香るラズベリームースに、ライチのジュレと白桃のコンポートを合わせた「シャルロットルージュ」や、ピスタチオ風味のアーモンドクリームに、バニラの香りをまとった杏子を重ねて焼き上げた「アプリコットとピスタチオのタルト」など、華やかなスイーツを豊富にご用意しました。

さらに、実演コーナーでは、目の前で仕上げるメニューならではの美味しさも。
熱々のトロピカルフルーツソースを自家製バニラアイスにかけて仕上げる「トロピカルフルーツのジュビレ」や、ご注文ごとにカスタードクリームを絞る、軽やかな食感の「絞りたてミニパイリュバーブのコンポート添え」は、出来立てならではの香りや味わいをお楽しみいただけます。

また、スイーツだけでなく、温製料理や冷製料理、スープ、サンドイッチ、サラダなどのセイボリーも充実。

『ホテルオークラ京都岡崎別邸』では、浄土宗大本山金戒光明寺塔頭「金光院」とのコラボレーションによる、「天然ホタルの鑑賞会付ディナープラン」を、5月29日（金）、6月5日（金）・6日（土）の3日間限定で開催いたします。

金光院は、浄土宗大本山・金戒光明寺の境内にある塔頭寺院のひとつであり、最初に創建された由緒ある存在。
「金戒光明寺」の名に由来する「金」と「光」の二文字を冠した、特別な寺院として知られています。
庭園には、庭石と草木が美しく配され、四季折々の趣を感じられ、なかでも5月下旬から6月上旬にかけては、自然に生息するホタルがやわらかな光を灯し、幻想的な情景が広がります。

本鑑賞プランでは、『ホテルオークラ京都岡崎別邸』のレストラン「ヌーヴェル・エポック」でのディナーの後に、ご参加の皆様限定で、金光院の庭園を特別に貸し切り公開していただきます。

The Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei is pleased to present its special Firefly Evening Dinner Experience in collaboration with the local historic Konkoin Temple. These exclusive bookings are available for the evenings of Fri. May 29 and Fri./Sat., June 5/6.

Konkoin is the oldest and most distinguished of several sub-temples within the grounds of Konkai Komyo-ji Temple, sharing the characters for “gold” and “light” with the main temple’s name. Its tranquil garden changes mood dynamically with the seasons, framed by delicately arranged rocks and lush greenery. From late May to early June, the soft glow of evening fireflies here creates a uniquely charming ambiance.

The Firefly Evening Dinner Experience opens with refined seasonal cuisine at the hotel’s Nouvelle Epoque restaurant, followed by private after-hours access to the Konkoin Temple garden for full appreciation of its unique charm.

◇◆タイの伝統技法「フルーツカービング」教室／Traditional Thai fruit carving classes◆◇

タイの伝統技法をベースにしたフルーツカービングは、一本のナイフで野菜や果物に繊細な模様を彫り込み、美しい装飾へと変化させる技法です。
王様に捧げる料理を彩ったことに由来するとされ、「おもてなし」の芸術として世界中で親しまれています。
　
『ホテルオークラ神戸』では、第8回タイカービングコンテンストフルーツカービング部門で入賞経験を持つシェフ・増田によるフルーツカービング教室を開催します。
　
「夏」をテーマに開催する初回7月の教室は、ご好評につき、満席となりました。
第2回は10月4日（日）「ハロウィン」、第3回は12月20日（日）「クリスマス」、最終回となる第4回は2027年3月13（土）「春」と、季節ごとに異なるテーマをご用意しています。
各回10名様限定の人気の教室ですので、ご興味のある方はお早めのご検討がおすすめです。
　
参加対象は中学生以上。講師が丁寧にご案内しながら進めてまいりますので、初めての方でも安心してご参加いただけます。
親子やご友人同士でのご参加も歓迎です。

Fruit carving is a traditional Thai art by which fruit and vegetables are turned into intricately patterned edible masterpieces with just a knife. Believed to have originated in decorations for the king’s table, the craft is today practiced worldwide as a form of art in the hospitality sector.

In recognition of this art, the Hotel Okura Kobe is running a schedule of fruit carving classes under its in-house Chef Hiroaki Masuda, an award winner in the fruit carving category of the 8th Thai Carving Contest in Japan.

The initial session will be held in July with a summer theme has now fully booked due to popular demand.
The other seasonally themed sessions are “Halloween” on October 4 (Sun.), “Christmas” on December 20 (Sun.) and “Spring” on March 13 (Sat.), 2027.
As the classes are popular, early booking is highly recommended.

Classes are open to all ages from junior high school upward, and groups of families or friends are welcome. With dedicated expert guidance in small groups of no more than ten, the sessions are great for all levels of ability.

The post-class ambiance also provides the ideal chance to take it easy and reflect on your carving work as you enjoy a nice cup of tea or coffee and some delicious in-house cake.
